Let the games begin

Howdy, I started my training today again, this time with a little more intent.  I changed my shoes and will see how I feel in the morning.  I ran 3.01 miles in 29:13, speed of 6.17 mi/hr with a pace of 9.43 mi/min. God bless and good night.

Time to REGROUP!

Howdy, well I came up with the idea to run a half marathon this morning and lets say it did not go as planned. I ventured out around 9:45 and to my amazement it was fairly warm.  It was in the 50s a few hours before and I did not take into account that there would be sunshine.  I met some friendly people along the way, heck one guy gave me a high five, classic, which I GREATLY appreciated.  About 7 miles in I psyched myself out of running.  I figured hey why not walk for three miles.  Another runner passed me twice and gave me a few words of encouragement.  There was someone who blew their horn at me and I thought that they were being rude but they did it to another runner, more encouragement.  At the 10 mile mark I figured I may as well start running again.  That is when the area behind my left knee started bothering me  My big toe's metatarsal on my right foot was bothering me again to my surprise because on Thursday it did not make a peep.  I will go back to running in New Balance shoes and use the Reebok's for indoors.  Starting next week Lord willing I will hopefully return to running 3 days a week again.  I will start out running 3 miles, 4, et al and work my way up to 13.1.  It is WAY to easy to quit and considering I have already paid to run in the Gasparilla 1/2 marathon I will not back away now.  God bless and excuse me while I put up my Ben Gay rubbed legs , LOL.  I ran a distance of 13.17 miles in 02:46:19, pace of 12:37 min/mi, speed of 4.75 mi/h.

I am taking my territory back...

Howdy, it seems like forever and a day since I jogged around the neighborhood.  I felt SO lazy but figured I needed to run since I have not done it in a week. I ran 3.22 miles in 29:40 with a pace of 9:14 min/mi at 6.50 miles/hr. God Bless :)

I should have remembered Ecclesiastes...

Greetings, it was a great day to run along the Causeway.  How can you not love this time of year?  The humidity is lower, the temperature too.  So why on God's green earth did I decide to leave my water in the car, SMH. I figured I was going to just run a 5k and then do some errands.  I have run many 5ks sans water but for some reason this run was different.  I started out great.  I was enjoying the water, the scenery et. al. but then it happened; dehydration began to kick in and I left my water in the car.  Since I refused to start walking all that I could do was run faster, which I did not.  It definitely was not me but I ran if not my fastest but one of my best times ever; THANK YOU LORD. So take note, NEVER go running without any water. Even if you are going just up the street bring some water with you. Peace!  I ran 3.22 miles, in 29:58, pace of 9:18min/mi, speed: 6.45 mi/h.

10 miles for what?

Greetings, what great weather to go for a run.  I figured what the heck 10 is a nice number so I ran 10 miles. 10.08 miles in 1:48:08, now time for some ben gay! Thank you Lord.

Who is that guy...

Greetings, what a great evening to run. I ran through a new neighborhood today and it was rather interesting.  Some of these subdivisions look a lot smaller from the outside but while running through some of them I began asking the question, "Where is the finish line?"  It was not as bad as I make it out to be.  Actually the last half mile is when I really turned on the gas.  I had this look of determination on my face so much so that my neighbors may have laughed at me but that is okay.  I ran 8.01 miles in 1:27:55, pace of 10:59 min/min., speed 5.46 mi/h. God bless.

I conquered the hill...

Greetings, on my second run of the Causeway I decided to run on the overpass.  It was not as daunting as I thought it would be.  On the way up there is a slight "break" before the angle of the overpass changes.  I did 5.04 miles with a pace of 10:48 and a time of 54:27.  Let us see what the Lord has in store for the next time.
