feeling much better

Good people, I had to make myself get out of be at 5:45 this morning. The humidity is finally going away and it is less difficult to breathe. Running while it is still dark is interesting. You look for the occasional cat, armadillo, etc... that may be lurking in the shadows. Looking up at a sky that is still dark it is easy to give the Lord above praise for all that he has made. I ran a "little" further than 5k but my time was ~ 4 minutes less than last Saturday's 47 minutes. Pray that I keep going. I will be posting a picture of the official RUNBLACKRUN bracelet soon.

Back into the swing of things

I just finished running a little over a 5k; my time was horrible :) The temperature is perfect, low humidity, what more could you ask for. Hopefully my knees won't punish me too much later on (LOL).

My mind is made up!

After reading an article in my neighborhood newspaper I have finally decide to train for a marathon that I plan on running Lord willing before the age of 40. A gentleman by the name of Ed Krufka of Land O' Lakes has encouraged me to go ahead and do it. One of my biggest concerns was finding a route in which to train. After reading about Ed's route I was able to think of a route that I could use. It is 5 miles one way from my home to the lazer tag place on SR 54. I have run this route before and if I make 3 round trips that would equal 30 miles which is plenty for a full marathon. I also have to thank Joe Rios because he also encouraged me by telling me that he used to run 30 miles in training for marathons.
