another 15k

Well I almost had to talk myself into doing it but I got another 15k run in this morning. I actually ran to the medical center; ~9:23 - 10:56; thank God.

Back into the swing of things

Well I hope that everyone has had a Merry Christmas. I ran a 15k today (~10:22 - 11:48). I have been slacking off and realized that Gasparilla is two months away. I got a new camelbak for Christmas and decided to try it out. It worked great; too bad I didn't fill it to the top. Lord willing I will get another 15k run in on Thursday.

Thanksgiving

Considering I didn't run in 10 days I decided to run 2 miles tonight. Good weather as usual.

collier & 54

Good morning, good people! I am posting a day late due to attending family fun day at church yesterday. Well with the Lord's help I made it to collier & 54. My knees seem more sore than normal. I generally don't stretch before I run (I know not too smart :)) but they felt tired. On the way back home though they were nice and warm. Mr Ben Gay and I are about to become friends for a minute before I get ready for church. I almost forgot to post my time of 1 hour and 6 minutes for running ~ 5.25 miles. Be Blessed, Stay Blessed!

publix light

Thank God I was able to make it to the Publix light on Saturday. It took me exactly 1 hour to run 5 miles. I figure that if I kept that pace I would finish a "marathon" in 5.24 hours which is just fine by me. Be blessed, stay blessed.

official bracelet

Here is the "official" bracelet for runblakmanrun; get yours today.

BRRR...it's not that cold

Good morning again! Well I made it to Weeks Blvd. today. Slowly but surely I am venturing further and further away from home; time today was approximately 46 minutes to run about 3.5 miles. The time may not be great but remember I am going for distance. In the end it may take me 6 hours (LOL) to run 26.2 miles but for me (and the professional runners) I won't be in the way. Be blessed, stay blessed.

feeling much better

Good people, I had to make myself get out of be at 5:45 this morning. The humidity is finally going away and it is less difficult to breathe. Running while it is still dark is interesting. You look for the occasional cat, armadillo, etc... that may be lurking in the shadows. Looking up at a sky that is still dark it is easy to give the Lord above praise for all that he has made. I ran a "little" further than 5k but my time was ~ 4 minutes less than last Saturday's 47 minutes. Pray that I keep going. I will be posting a picture of the official RUNBLACKRUN bracelet soon.

Back into the swing of things

I just finished running a little over a 5k; my time was horrible :) The temperature is perfect, low humidity, what more could you ask for. Hopefully my knees won't punish me too much later on (LOL).

My mind is made up!

After reading an article in my neighborhood newspaper I have finally decide to train for a marathon that I plan on running Lord willing before the age of 40. A gentleman by the name of Ed Krufka of Land O' Lakes has encouraged me to go ahead and do it. One of my biggest concerns was finding a route in which to train. After reading about Ed's route I was able to think of a route that I could use. It is 5 miles one way from my home to the lazer tag place on SR 54. I have run this route before and if I make 3 round trips that would equal 30 miles which is plenty for a full marathon. I also have to thank Joe Rios because he also encouraged me by telling me that he used to run 30 miles in training for marathons.
